From March to August 2026, Chenzhu’s SPE/APL fully networked technology completed the full cycle from standard development, industry validation, and engineering outreach.
March | Official Launch
Beijing, China · 2nd Council Meeting of the Fully Networked Industrial Measurement and Control Systems Committee
Ms. Zhou Ting, Vice Chair of Chenzhu, delivered a keynote report marking the entry of the SPE/APL intrinsic safety solution into the engineering validation phase. The communication evolution from 4–20 mA to HART to APL was mapped out. As a principal drafter of GB/Z 3836.372025 (2WISE), Chenzhu opened its test platform to instrument manufacturers, engineering design institutes, and system integrators.
May | Industry Showcase: Chemical & Petrochemical
Yulin, Shaanxi · 3rd Coal Chemical Instrument Technology Conference
Against the backdrop of predictive maintenance and updated grounding/lightning protection standards, traditional 4–20 mA bandwidth limitations were discussed. Onsite demos featured safety barriers, HART multiplexers, SPDs, safety relays, and SPE/APL solutions, demonstrating 10 Mbps intrinsic safety transmission for full diagnostic data acquisition.
Zhanjiang, Guangdong · EthernetAPL Technology Innovation Summit
BASF’s integrated base adopted PROFINET + APL, marking the first largescale domestic petrochemical application with endtoend switchtoinstrument networking. APL’s engineering advantages in cabling, diagnostics, replacement, and interoperability were clarified through objective comparison with HART and traditional fieldbus. Deployment challenges were also analyzed: standards awareness, scarce reference cases, and ROI quantification.
July | Scenario Adaptation: APC Data Foundation & Overseas Markets
Yichang, Hubei · 6th Advanced Control Technology Seminar
AInative APC and industrial large models require massive realtime diagnostic data — bandwidth that traditional 4–20 mA/HART cannot provide. APL, based on the 2WISE standard, delivers a 10 Mbps highspeed channel for hazardous areas.
Hiroshima, Japan · FieldCommGroup Annual Meeting
At a dedicated FCG–Chenzhu meeting focused on EthernetAPL switch certification, Chenzhu presented its R&D history, core technical features, and industrial adaptation advantages including channel isolation. Chenzhu applied to join the FCG APL Working Group, targeting certification by end of 2026.
Bangkok, Thailand · Southeast Asia Intelligent Manufacturing Exhibition (IME 2026)
At the first overseas exhibition of China International Industry Fair, Ms. Li Danping, General Manager of Chenzhu, delivered the keynote "StandardsLed, Digital Innovation, Safety Foundation." The presentation covered APL singlepair power and data transmission, and Zone 0/1 intrinsic safety deployment for Southeast Asian automotive, chemical, and new energy industries.
August | Engineering Outreach: Addressing OnSite Pain Points
Instrument Circle — Engineering Perspective
Three chronic issues of 4–20 mA were examined: wiring complexity, maintenance difficulty, and expansion cost — leading to information silos, timeconsuming troubleshooting, and high retrofit costs. APL is a physicallayer architecture innovation, not an additional fieldbus. A single twisted pair delivers 10 Mbps highspeed intrinsic safety transmission plus IPbased plugandplay. Deployment bottlenecks were objectively analyzed: standards implementation, reference cases, and longterm benefit quantification.
Upcoming | APL Technical Series
From August 11: Detailed technical decryption of the APL intrinsic safety integrated solution.
